Gifts in kind

Helping patients in the hospitals we support doesn’t always have to involve giving money. We always welcome gifts in kind for patients that help provide a little extra – helping staff, too.

You can give a gift in kind all-year-round – just let us know.

We are in constant need of:

  • Event equipment
  • Fundraising prizes
  • Print services
  • Ad hoc services such as professional design skills or photography
  • Cakes for celebration events such as Jenny Lind Day
  • Cakes, biscuits, tea, coffee for staff areas as extra treats

If you have any questions about corporate donations or how your company could offer a service as a gift in kind, please contact Louise Cook on 01603 287107 or louise.cook@nnuh.nhs.uk

Top tips for giving gifts:

  • Gifts that are particularly useful include:
  • Toys must be brand new
  • Toys must not be gift wrapped
  • Soft toys are not accepted on our wards and departments due to the risk of cross-infection

Before giving a gift:

  • Infection control is vital in the hospitals so please bear in mind:
  • Second-hand items should be able to be wiped clean
  • Soft items (like teddy bears) should be new
  • We can’t accept used toys or clothing, large toys or other large items, or mechanical toys
  • Unfortunately we cannot pay for the cost of collecting your gifts and delivering them to the hospital

Knitting/Sewing projects:

We do accept knitted garments for our premature and neonatal babies, but often have a greater supply than we can use, so it is always worth making contact with the hospital first if you are planning to donate a large number of knitted items.

We currently have several knitting projects which you can help with including:

  • 6000 Hats (pdf for instruction)
