NNUH Bike Ride

Join the NNUH charity bike ride with help along the way

Would you like to talk part in the NNUH charity bike ride but are a bit of a novice when it comes to cycling? Or maybe you are already a cyclist but would like to improve your distance or speed before taking part in the July Sportive?

This year’s NNUH Sportive is taking place on Sunday, July 15th with the opportunity to cycle 100, 60 or 30-mile routes, all of which follow sections of the Tour of Britain and the Women’s Tour, and all start and finish at the hospital on Colney Lane.

The event takes participants through the quiet roads in South Norfolk and North Suffolk, which provide scenic beauty along the way and routes suitable for both experienced and novice cyclists.
Kate Lucas from the Staff Physiotherapy Service and a keen cyclist said: “The Sportive is a fantastic opportunity for people who may be thinking about taking up cycling and we would like to offer them support and help by way of a structured training programme which would be suitable for both beginners and novice riders.

“It’s a great way to keep fit and you don’t need to have a particular type of bike, any bike can be used, particularly for those who would like to start with the 30-mile route.”

Among those taking part are NNUH Chief Executive Mark Davies, pictured.

Entry for the Sportive is £9 for the 100 mile, £7 for the 60 mile and £5 for the 30 mile and this is one of the few sportives where your entry will directly support the N&N Hospitals Charity as up to £9 per entry goes directly to us, and you can raise further money through sponsorship.
