Gifts for patients

The N&N Hospitals Charity would like to give you the opportunity to make a difference to someone in hospital. There are many times throughout the year, such as Easter and Christmas, where patients would appreciate a small gift so they know that somebody is thinking about them. The smallest of gestures can make a real difference to our patients.

Year-round we are in need of tea, coffee and biscuits for many of our ward areas, as well as craft materials or toys suitable for use in our Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital and various children’s areas such as ED.

Send A Smile With Santa  for Christmas

Hospital is never a place where you want to be, but gifts like this show that someone cares. Imagine the difference it makes – If it was your child, or your grandparent…

There are patients who have to remain in hospital over the Christmas period, and some have no family to visit them. By donating a gift, you can make someone’s Christmas extra special. We need around 1,000 gifts so we can ensure every inpatient receives a small gift on Christmas morning.

Easter is a time to celebrate Spring in the knowhow that Summer and warmer weather is on its way. To spread cheer this Easter, why not buy a gift for someone in hospital.

Our Easter wish list:

  • Some Easter eggs for our patients across our hospitals
  • Diabetic chocolate, biscuits or a small present e.g. toiletries, that we can give our diabetic patients
  • Tea, coffee, squash for ward waiting areas and kitchens
  • Small brand new toys, books which can be given to children who are not able to have chocolate.

We must receive all gifts by the week leading up to Easter and do please contact the fundraising team before dropping off items.

Also we are asking that, instead of Easter eggs, we are asking you to support our young patients directly through donating towards play activities:

£ 5

  • could cover the cost of multi-sensory play equipment for children with special needs

£ 12

  • could cover the costs of a patient to attend a themed arts and crafts session

Things we cannot accept:

To prevent infection, we will only be able to accept new items in their original packaging and not wrapped in paper. All purchased food products must be in a sealed package and still in date for 25 December 2018.

Unfortunately we are not able to accept edible homemade gifts (cakes, sweets etc), electrical items, used books, candles, old DVDs or VHS tapes; sharp objects such as knives or tools,  denominational or religious material.
